I’LL SPEAK FOR MYSELFOne Man’s Mission to Build Confidence in All of UsFor Immediate ReleaseMonday, May 11, 2009 Contact: Corporate Classrooms, 978-733-1620
What
does a cleft palate and bilateral cleft lip have to do with building confidence?
Ask Kim Kerrigan. He has
coped exceedingly well despite being born with this congenital birth defect and
has gone on to become an exciting, dynamic, and very
confident corporate trainer and public speaker.
He credits his perceptive and positive- thinking parents with much of his
success. “From the day I was
born, my parents were determined that I would grow into a healthy, confident
human being,” says Mr. Kerrigan. “The
greatest sacrifice my parents were to make--indeed my entire family was to
make--lay not with finances. Rather,
it would be the time-consuming development of proper speech patterns and the
instilling of a healthy self-confidence in its newest family member.”
Now the author of five books published by Prentice Hall Direct, Mr.
Kerrigan is adding another facet to his successful career as an educator and
corporate training specialist. He
is helping people to develop and nurture their self-confidence, so they can
better cope—and succeed—in today’s very complicated and fast-paced world.
From the unwed mothers to whom he teaches grammar, so they can pass their
GED exam and find jobs, to the well-paid, Brookes Brothers suited executives who come to him to improve
their presentation skills, Mr. Kerrigan’s main message is one of building
confidence. “You will be
successful when you think of yourself as a unique and special individual with
many gifts to offer others,” he enthusiastically tells one audience composed
of people with diverse backgrounds and distinct viewpoints.
“If I can do what I do, you
can do what you set out to do.”
Meanwhile, he speaks passionately to a group of unwed mothers ages 14 to
49 about what he believes is a key to both happiness and success in life:
“Your life will be immensely enriched when you realize that being
different from others is a wonderful and lasting opportunity for your growth as
a human being. Always be confident in yourself and in your ideas.
In other words,” he says, “you are
different from everyone else, and different
is good.” For more information about Mr. Kerrigan’s motivational workshops or Corporate Classrooms’ communication skills programs, contact the company at 978-733-1620 ; by mail at PO Box 161, Clinton, MA; or by e-mail at kim.kerrigan@corporateclassrooms.com |
